The Vision on Indian Industry & Business 2016, organized by the Corporate Council for Leadership and Awareness (CCLA) in collaboration with the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, was successfully held on 6 September 2016 at Bhawna Clarks Inn, Agra. The conference served as a significant state-level platform dedicated to promoting industrial development, strengthening the MSME ecosystem, and encouraging meaningful dialogue between policymakers, industry experts, entrepreneurs, and government institutions.
The event brought together entrepreneurs, industrialists, MSME owners, exporters, business leaders, government officials, professionals, academicians, and representatives of industry associations to deliberate on the future of Indian industry and identify strategies for sustainable economic growth, industrial modernization, and skill development. CCLA General Secretary Ajay Sharma and Convener Brajesh Sharma accorded a warm welcome to the esteemed dignitaries and guests.
The conference was graced by Mr. Dilip Chenoy, Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Vasindra Mishra, Editor of India 24×7, Zee Media Group, attended as the Guest of Honour. Their presence enriched the event with valuable insights on industrial competitiveness, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and the evolving business environment in India.
In his keynote address, Mr. Dilip Chenoy emphasized that skilled human capital is the foundation of a globally competitive economy. He encouraged entrepreneurs to invest continuously in the upskilling and reskilling of their workforce, highlighting that technological advancements and changing industry requirements demand continuous learning and professional development. He stressed that businesses capable of building a highly skilled workforce would be better positioned to compete successfully in both domestic and international markets.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Puran Dawar, Chairman of the Corporate Council for Leadership and Awareness (CCLA) and Chairman of Dawar Footwear Industries, emphasized that the future of Indian industry lies in innovation, quality, and global competitiveness. He stated that India’s entrepreneurs possess immense potential, and with the right ecosystem, supportive policies, and technological advancement, Indian businesses can emerge as global leaders.
Mr. Dawar highlighted the critical role of MSMEs and manufacturing enterprises in driving employment generation, exports, and sustainable economic growth. He encouraged industries to embrace modernization, invest in skill development, adopt advanced manufacturing technologies, and focus on creating globally benchmarked products.
Speaking on the vision of “Make in India” and the importance of strengthening domestic manufacturing, he urged entrepreneurs to move beyond conventional business practices and build internationally competitive brands capable of serving global markets. He further stressed that close collaboration between industry, government, financial institutions, and academia is essential for creating an enabling environment that supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term industrial development.
Concluding his address, Mr. Dawar reaffirmed CCLA’s commitment to fostering leadership, encouraging knowledge-sharing, and creating platforms that empower entrepreneurs through policy awareness, industry collaboration, and strategic partnerships. He expressed confidence that collective efforts by all stakeholders would play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Indian enterprise and accelerating the nation’s journey toward becoming a global economic powerhouse.
Representatives from the Ministry of MSME presented detailed information on various government initiatives, policy frameworks, financial assistance programmes, entrepreneurship development schemes, technology upgradation initiatives, and institutional support available for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The sessions enabled entrepreneurs to gain first-hand knowledge of government programmes designed to enhance productivity, innovation, competitiveness, and business sustainability.
One of the most valuable components of the conference was the interactive dialogue between entrepreneurs and government officials. Business owners actively raised questions regarding MSME registration, financial assistance, skill development, industrial growth, government incentives, market expansion, infrastructure support, and regulatory procedures. Experts from the Ministry of MSME addressed these concerns comprehensively, helping participants better understand available opportunities and resolve their queries through direct interaction.
The conference featured engaging discussions on industrial development, entrepreneurship promotion, innovation, manufacturing competitiveness, quality enhancement, workforce development, digital transformation, and the growing importance of skill-based economic growth. Industry leaders shared practical experiences and recommendations on improving productivity, encouraging technology adoption, strengthening MSMEs, and enhancing India’s position in the global industrial landscape.
The event also served as an effective networking platform where entrepreneurs, policymakers, business professionals, media representatives, and industry experts exchanged ideas, explored collaborative opportunities, and established valuable professional connections. These interactions encouraged knowledge sharing and strengthened cooperation among stakeholders committed to advancing India’s industrial ecosystem.
The enthusiastic participation of entrepreneurs and industry representatives demonstrated the growing need for collaborative platforms that bridge the gap between government policies and business implementation. The conference successfully fostered awareness about institutional support mechanisms while inspiring entrepreneurs to embrace innovation, skill development, and strategic growth.
More than just a conference, Vision on Indian Industry & Business 2016 became a catalyst for industrial dialogue, policy awareness, and entrepreneurial empowerment. It reinforced the importance of collaboration between government, industry, academia, and skill development institutions in building a stronger manufacturing ecosystem and a more competitive business environment.
The successful organization of the event reaffirmed CCLA’s commitment to creating meaningful platforms that promote entrepreneurship, strengthen MSMEs, encourage policy engagement, and support India’s industrial transformation. By emphasizing the critical role of skills, innovation, and government-industry collaboration, the conference laid a strong foundation for future initiatives dedicated to sustainable economic growth and national development.
